I’d planned to have a quiet morning today, but the weather forecast suggested that the afternoon would be rainy (and much of tomorrow, too) so I decided to do another mountain hike while I had chance.

I picked Offersøykammen- another that’s rated as “easy”, but I’ve come to the conclusion that the Norwegian scale doesn’t account for unfit people like me… Anyway, after almost an hour and half of scrambling up the rocks and hillside I made it to the top of this 430 metre peak. The views were worth the climb, and it was easier coming down again.

Most of the afternoon was spent back in the cabin as the heavy rain arrived right on cue. Anyway, some pictures from the top:

Looking southeast from Offersøykammen - in the very far distance are mountains on the Norwegian mainland. The town in the middle is Leknes, the main town on Vestvågøy.

Looking south from Offersøykammen - the water separates Vestvågøy from Flakstadøya, the next island in the chain as you move south-west
